Property Management Procedures for
Computer Equipment Disposal
For non-working computer equipment:
For all of your computers (e.g. tower, desktop, laptop) complete
a State PAMS-4 Disposal Form. Property Management can send this to you or
it’s available on the MSU website at
http://www2.montana.edu/policy/property/images/PAMS-4.pdf.
Please remember to remove your property control tags or other identification
tags from the equipment before you dispose of it. Take note of the MSU tag
number from the computer case or the serial number if the tag is missing. For
monitors, list the quantities and make of monitor. Send the tags along with the
form to MSU Property Management.
After this is completed, call Scott Rogers (994-3572), Chemical Safety Officer,
for equipment pickup. Departments can directly dispose of printers, mice and
keyboards.
Surplus working computer equipment: All computers that are less than a Pentium
II should be treated the same as non-working computer equipment noted above.
Any Pentium II or better that is surplus and in working condition needs to be
coordinated through Property Management (Call Carla, 994-5504 or email
wiedeman@montana.edu
). Or visit the Property
Management Procedures website.
